Tim Howard, the goal keeper for the US Men's National Team, has been all over the social media and the news throughout the World Cup. He seems to be known for his goalkeeping, his tattoos, and his Tourette's Syndrome. But most do not know much about his faith, even though he openly talks about it. One article stuck out to me. (You can read the article HERE.)
Tim was diagnosed with Tourette's syndrome at the age of 10 and said his life was completely chaotic. He saw the faith and peace his grandmother had and wanted the same thing for himself. He says, "and that is exactly what God gave me."
Take a look at what he says after that:
"Today, I am blessed to be living a dream. And yet, if it all went away tomorrow, I know I would still have peace. That probably sounds crazy to most people, but that's the kind of peace Christ gives. It is rooted in His love, and it surpasses all understanding."
What a great example of trusting God when things are going great, and being willing to trust him EVEN IF things aren't.
