Do You Know Why There Are Often Mirrors Next to Elevators?

Do you know why there are often mirrors near elevators? I've recently read that the reason there are mirrors near elevators is as a customer-pleasing, cost-saving measure.

People hate to wait. Companies hate to spend unnecessary money. So how many elevators should a company install? Typically, they will install the minimum required by building code, but that will require people to wait longer than they naturally want to wait (which is NO time at all).

So – the solution? One thing people DO love is to look at themselves. So sociologists discovered if there are mirrors near the elevator, people won't mind waiting. Problem solved.

People's self-consumption sure saves companies a lot of money!
