Why It Is Hard to Be Me

Character-traits

I don’t want my kindness to be sacrificed on the altar of my impatience.

I don’t want my love to be sacrificed on the altar of my pride.

I don’t want my wisdom to be sacrificed on the altar of my convenience.

I don’t want my purity to be sacrificed on the altar of my lust.

I don’t want my joy to be sacrificed on the altar of my stubbornness.

I don’t want my compassion to be sacrificed on the altar of my selfishness.

It is hard to be me. Because the first qualities in each sentence describe who I want to be. But the second quality in each sentence is so much easier. Kind of reminds me of Romans 7:24-25. Read it – it is worth it.
