World Map Family Project did some research to determine how many children have two, one, or no parents in countries around the world. Their findings are so interesting to me. You can read the entire article HERE, or see the chart of their findings below.
In Jordan 94% of children live with two parents in their home compared to 36% in South Africa. In the United States, 69% of children live with both of their parents, which ranks 32nd out of 41 countries. You can see the rest of the scores and rankings in the chart below.
The article goes on to say that, as we just celebrated Father's Day, "in some countries, roughly four in ten kids are growing up without a father." Though I can't say that these findings are surprising, it is still sobering to see these numbers and realize what a reality it is.
