Social Media / Priorities – part 2

Read part 1 HERE.

"One of the great uses of Twitter and Facebook will be to prove at the Last Day that prayerlessness was not from lack of time."

  1. Like most things in the world, social media is neither a good or a bad thing. I have watched Facebook destroy the lives of teenagers through the instant dissemination of vicious rumors to their entire school, and I have been able to engage in spiritual conversations with professors and friends because they have expressed political or religious views in contrast to the gospel on their pages.

I don’t think social media is something to ban our children from using, but rather to encourage them to use it for the Kingdom.

  2. Besides having no cell, I’m also very “proud” that I’ve never actually tried either Facebook or Twitter. Ha! I’d probably be clueless!

It wouldn’t be too hard to see how it could be a great consumer of time.

I think John Piper is right on!
