29 Years Ago – Keith Green Died (Video)

29 years ago yesterday (July 28, 1982), Keith Green died at the age of 28. I didn't really know his music until several years after his death while in college. There are a few of his songs that I still love ("O Lord, You're Beautiful" and "Your Love Broke Through"). Those songs still impact me in a very emotional level when I hear Keith sing them.

This morning (my day off), I watched a documentary on Keith Green and was once again very moved by his life (even more than his music). I know an hour is a HUGE investment of time, but I would imagine that it may be the best use of one hour of your day. You WILL think about it for quite a while.

If you watch, join me in being challenged by his total, radical commitment to Christ.

As always, if you receive this by email, click HERE or the title above to see the video.

  1. I want to echo the awesome impact of Keith Green’s music. I was 2 1/2 when he died and don’t remember the event. What I do remember is listening to my father’s vinyls of Keith Green when I was a little older and the impact the songs had on my heart. When I hear the songs again it stirs my heart. I like a lot of his songs…but “Easter Song”, “You Put This Love In My Heart” and “The Sheep and The Goats” are some of my favorites! Thanks for posting this!!!

  2. Awesome video!! Keith was passionate and fortunately, God turned that passion to be used for Him! Keith is a great reminder of how we are supposed to live and it is challenging to think about doing even half the things he did (taking in the homeless, giving away his music, etc.)in the culture in which we now live. His music had a big impact on me and many others. I still remember where I was when I heard he died (I-35 South near Boondocks USA)
